Japan Camping] Our Charming Camping Adventure Shinwa no Sato Nature Park camping ground on Tsushima Island
For this year's Labor Day holiday, we decided to embark on a camping trip to Tsushima Island, Japan👺.
My wife is undoubtedly the best trip planner I know! Our Trello board had been brimming with camping plans for days leading up to our departure.
We had heard from the news that Japan lags behind in digitalization, but booking a campsite via fax felt a bit archaic. Tsushima Island, the closest Japanese island to Korea, was our chosen destination.
Our journey began with a KTX ride from Seoul to Busan, where we go to the Busan International Passenger Terminal. From there, we took a ferry to Tsushima Island.
The island greeted us with a quaint, picturesque harbor that looked like something out of Hayao Miyazaki's "Ponyo."😃
After a quick shopping for camping and a taxi tour around the area
and we took a bus to the Shinwanosato Natural Park campsite.
Nestled in a scenic location, the campsite offered breathtaking sea views and fresh air. It wasn’t equipped with luxurious amenities, but the charming, Japanese-style reception building and well-maintained camping sites more than made up for it.
One of the highlights for our little one was the large playground where they played joyfully after we set up our tent.
Although it wasn’t a high-end campsite like those near Tokyo or Osaka, the rustic charm and serene environment made for a delightful camping experience.
We truly appreciated the beauty of nature and the tranquil atmosphere of Tsushima Island.
Overall, our camping adventure was a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration, filled with beautiful memories we will cherish for a long time.
